Real copy that works
“The hoodie that made 847 people return their other hoodies”
Why it works: Specific social proof number + implies a before/after comparison without saying it.
“Still charging by the hour? That's why your income has a ceiling.”
Why it works: Opens with a diagnostic question (Problem), names the hidden cost (Agitate), solution is a CTA not a hard sell.
“Right now, you open 11 different tabs to start your Monday.”
Why it works: Compressed BAB in 3 sentences. Before is painfully specific (11 tabs), After is a single contrasting image, Bridge is just the product name.
“Write your first high-converting email sequence in 5 days.”
Why it works: Promise is specific (5 days, first sequence). Proof arrives in sentence 3 before the pitch is even fully made. Short social proof punches above its word count.
“Most newsletters die because the writer optimises for opens, not outcomes.”
Why it works: Problem is a counterintuitive reframe. Agitate makes a common 'success' feel like a trap. Solution is a single, specific, actionable fix.
“We need to talk about your wardrobe”
Why it works: Mimics a personal message — creates mild anxiety and curiosity simultaneously. Feels like it came from a friend, not a brand.
